About the Tutor
I have always loved to draw. My parents were very encouraging and enrolled me in children’s art school when I was 12. After finishing the children’s art school, I entered to Moscow Industrial Art University where I studied for over 5 years and continued to learn. I studied subjects such as History of Art, Folk Art and more.
Visiting exhibitions and museums I learned a lot from famous Russian great artist as Ilya Repin, Valentin Serov, Mikhail Vrubel, Russian impressions such as Konstantine Korovin, Ilya Mashkov, Alexander Kuprin and my favourite French impressions Degas, Renoir, Van Gogh, Monet and Toulouse Lautrec. They are instilled in me a love of painting portraits and figures. I try to put colour and lighting in harmony with brushstroke, application and modelling of light and shade.
My favorite genre is portraiture which shows the secret beauty of the soul, mood and relevance to surrounding the world. I love to work in oil. I have exhibited regularly since 2013 and have won awards at the MCAA awards and at Alfred Cove Art Society. I paint commission portraits.
I started teaching portraiture at Atwell House in 2020 enjoy it very much. I enjoy seeing my students create lovely works and see the happiness in their faces when they are working.
