Class Description
Indian Block printing is a traditional art form that has been around in India since around the 12th century.
Come and engage in this modern-day hands-on version and learn how to make block printed transfers onto your BYO T-Shirt with some really cool colour mixing included.
We will be using a range of non-toxic textile paints (that are permanent) and a range of traditional Indian wooden art blocks. Take home care instructions will be provided for parents.
Suitable for: Ages 5+
Materials: Please bring your own BYO cotton t-shirt to print onto and please ensure it has been washed and dried.
Please wear art clothes and an apron.
Tutor
Since 2006 Leisa has been sharing her love for creativity by offering a range of multi-disciplinary creative art and handicraft workshops in our community. She enjoys exploring and learning old world art and handicraft forms to create ever evolving workshops for all ages across a range of mediums including weaving, macrame, basketry, mosaics and more.
Her classes and workshops offer opportunities for participants to design and create decorative or functional home décor inspired by a blend of traditional techniques and contemporary Indian & Bohemian influences. Leisa enjoys the challenge to apply sustainable principles across her work and thrives on reducing her eco-footprint by sourcing recycled materials, combining these with new & re-purposed materials to be used in the workshops and classes she offers to create beautiful textiles, jewellery, home decor & gift wares.
