Class Description

Learning outcomes:

Making clouds look like clouds instead of flat or solid objects. Using clouds as compositional tools.


Painting clouds in oils – fluffy white clouds, storm clouds, wispy high-level clouds, colourful sunset or sunrise clouds – take your pick


Suitable for: Beginners to intermediate

Lawrence has been drawing or painting most of his life and has worked in most media but his preferred medium for painting is oil.

He attended Claremont School of Art for a number of years, focusing on oil painting, including studying portraiture with one of WA’s most   acclaimed portrait artists.

Lawrence’s style is largely realist and mostly representational. The majority of his work is in the genres of portraiture, landscapes or birds and animals.
