Class Description

The emphasis in this class is to investigate the subject of landscape through expressive painting and experimental printmaking. The first half of the course explores techniques of acrylic painting often using reference images as a steppingstone. Concepts are explored in class through exercises demonstrated by the teacher. These exercises touch on colour theory, paint application, composition, abstraction and the pictorial elements and principles of art in relation to landscape painting

Guidance is given and notes are provided on a regular basis. Students are encouraged to find their own voice and explore a subject matter within the landscape that inspires them.
