Class Description

COURSE CONTENT:

The students will be presented with a brief to choose, design and create an animal. Design techniques will be explored along with the planning process for creating their animal. Participants will then embark on a exciting journey of creating and bring their animal to life.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • To explore the art of ceramics in a social environment.
  • While the student is exploring and designing their creations they will also be learning the basic techniques for forming clay: coil, pinchpot and hand building.

  • Glazing and colouring techniques

Tutor

Sandra is a multidisciplinary artist, works with a range of materials to produce sculptural pieces. She takes inspiration from nature and enjoys experimenting with a range of material, often incorporating found and recycled objects, resulting fascinating and unusual art forms. She has more than 20 years’ experience exploring and teaching ceramics.  She has been always drawn to the organic character of clay, in her attempt to convey the beauty of nature through her art.
