Class Description

Discover abstract painting with oils or acrylics.  Learn how to develop abstract paintings from nature/natural forms and/or geometric shapes in a supportive and encouraging environment.

We will explore:

  • Either evolved or planned processes.
  • Look at texture/ smooth and rough.
  • Colour theory.
  • Spatial, relationships, balance.
  • Tone i.e. dark and light.
  • Perspective, use of shape.

Suitable for:  Beginners to more advanced students. Classes are adaptable to student needs.

Materials list: BYO materials-see below

1. Paints, either oils or acrylic in primary colours. Red. Blue. Yellow. Black and White.
2. Brushes. Flat and round
3. Painting knives. A small and a large
4. Painting canvases or board
5. Cloths


Lindsay Pow is an award winning  artist from Perth, Western Australia. Over the course of his long career he has produced many paintings depicting the landscape of Western Australia. In addition to painting, he teaches art from his home studio and various colleges. Lindsay's paintings have been widely exhibited and he continues to show work in solo and joint exhibitions.  He is represented by Linton & Kay art galleries in Perth, Western Australia.
